She is a Professor of Sociology and Medicine at Temple University, President and Founder of The Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice, and author of Paying the Price: College Costs, Financial Aid, and the Betrayal of the American Dream.
Dr. Goldrick-Rab's research on the basic needs among college students sparked the #RealCollege movement, legislation addressing food and housing insecurity, and a growing understanding of and support for meeting students' basic needs at colleges across the country.
